Laparoscopic trocars are a kind of medical device that is used during laparoscopic surgery. Endoscopic trocars are syringe-shaped instruments and have several parts. The disposable laparoscopic trocar is designed to be used in Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) to puncture the abdominal wall, create working tunnels, and maintain pneumoperitoneum during surgery. These trocars are particularly effective in accessing the body cavities such as the abdominal cavity, providing a stable port for instruments.
The disposable trocar in laparoscopic surgery is not intended for use when endoscopic techniques are generally contraindicated. It is also commonly used in procedures such as diagnostic laparoscopy, allowing visual assessment of internal organs with minimal invasion.
