Matters Needing Attention After Circumcision Stapler Surgery by Using Surgical Stapler (Part 2)

Dressing change after operation

Generally, the dressing is changed once 3 days after the circumcision operation according to the doctor's advice, and the dressing is removed. If the gauze wrapped around the wound falls off or becomes wet, it should be replaced in time. In particular, do not wet the dressing when urinating. If the gauze is soaked in urine when urinating, it should be replaced in time. After urination, the urethra can be scrubbed to keep the wound dressing clean.

The problem of Titanium falling off

Circumcision stapler is used in all circumcision operations. If there is obvious blood leakage during the operation, 1 to 2 stitches will be sutured, and the titanium nail will be removed after returning to the hospital in 1 week. The titanium nail can fall off automatically in about 2 to 4 weeks. In case of wound dehiscence, please come to the hospital for treatment.

Postoperative infection problems

In the aspect of anti-infection after circumcision stapler surgery, due to the good blood supply of penis and strong anti-infection ability, the common circumcision operation can be given antibiotic anti infection treatment for 7 to 10 days. As long as there is no infection after operation, it can be basically healed within 2 to 3 weeks.

Edema of prepuce after operation

It is normal to have mild edema in a short time after prepuce operation, which is the body reaction caused by operation. Generally, pressure bandaging is needed for 2 to 3 days to reduce postoperative edema. If the edema is very light or only ventral edema, no special treatment is needed. In general, about 4 to 8 weeks after surgery, foreskin edema will gradually disappear. However, there will be a small number of patients with foreskin edema after surgery for a longer time.

Emergency after operation

After circumcision, if there is abnormal swelling of the wound site, darkening of the glans, a large amount of bleeding on the gauze, and wound infection, you should return to the hospital for follow-up immediately.
