Recently, Victor Medical successfully hosted an international academic event on bariatric and metabolic surgery in Istanbul, delivering a meaningful and in-depth industry conference to professionals worldwide. The congress brought together 76 surgical experts from 7 countries, not only deepening cooperation between global professionals in the field but also marking another important appearance of Victor Medical on the global academic stage.
Under the theme “New Era in Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery: Redefining Safety and Optimizing Patient Outcomes,” 24 surgical experts delivered insightful speeches and engaged in discussions on surgical innovation, post-op patient care, and complication prevention.

This academic exchange activity was proudly supported by the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul. Upon arrival, the Chinese expert delegation and the Victor Medical team visited the consulate, where Consul General-Wei Xiao dong personally welcomed them and expressed strong support and anticipation for the global communication. Highlighting the “Belt and Road” healthcare cooperation, Consul General-Wei xiao dong encouraged a deeper integration between Chinese minimally invasive technology and the Turkish medical system.
This strategic meeting not only provided policy momentum for international academic exchange and cooperation in the bariatric and metabolic surgery field, but also positioned the “globalization of medical devices” within the broader framework of international collaboration.
During a visit to VM Medical Park Maltepe Hospital, Dr. Mustafa Atabey, Director of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, introduced the current state of bariatric and metabolic surgery in Turkey, including its development, cost structure, and surgical volume. He also performed a live surgery. The Chinese delegation was impressed by the integration of Eastern and Western concepts and the precision of Turkish surgical techniques. Real-time exchanges covered laparoscopic procedures and surgical innovations.
The President of Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical School also expressed strong interest in collaborating with Chinese medical universities and hopes to establish future joint training programs. Victor Medical is honored to serve as a catalyst for deeper integration between Chinese and international medical education.
At the Victor Medical congress’s booth, Victor Medical’s powered endoscopic linear cutter stapler - VicPower drew significant attention. Experts from various countries tried it hands-on and praised its smart features, refined design, and user-friendly operation.
